A WELCOME BACK MESSAGE FROM THE
PRESIDENT STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT,
NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY AWKA, COMRADE
NOBLE EYISI
Greatest Zikites!
It is with profound joy that I welcome all of you
back to school as we commence the journey into
the second phase of the 2014/2015 academic
session. It was by the grace of God that we
recorded unprecedented success in the beginning
of this session.
I seize this opportunity to congratulate the winners
of the 2015 general elections in the country, most
especially the President-Elect General Muhammadu
Buhari as well as commend the high
statesmanship exhibited by President Goodluck
Ebele Jonathan who through his singular act saved
Nigeria and Nigerians from a looming bloodbath.
I salute my fellow students whose prayers, physical
support and encouragement has continued to steer
this administration to the right course. As part of
our programmes this semester and also with
respect to our resolve in improving the welfare of
the students of this great citadel of learning, we
have decided to cut down the cost of food from
N200 to N150 within the campus. This will be in
phases. The first phase will commence at the Food
Canteens behind Faculty of Arts after which other
canteens are expected to follow suit. We intend
developing that area as our food village in due
course. Do well to patronize the place. This takes
effect from tomorrow, being Monday, the 13th day
of April, 2015. Aside this reduction, we shall also
engage in programmes that will be of immense
benefit to our students. My executives and I are
working assiduously to make sure we represent
your interest.
Academic activities will take full swing from
tomorrow as the vice chancellor has mandated all
lecturers to discharge their duties from tomorrow.
So I urge those yet to return to do so as soon as
possible so as not to miss out. I wish you all safe
trip back to school. Second semester has always
been ascribed with beehive of extracurricular
activities geared towards spicing your academic
life. That notwithstanding, your academics remains
a priority. So while you party, don’t allow your
study suffer.
For the freshers yet to be inducted in their various
departments or faculties, I wish you happy
induction which will come up soonest.
I mustn’t fail to appreciate and commend our
amiable and indefatigable vice chancellor,
Professor Joseph Eberendu Ahaneku, FAS
(Mmirioma) whose fatherly disposition to this
government has remained pivotal to its success
these few months. We urge him to remain
unrelenting as he strives towards making this
citadel of learning envy of all.
Long Live SUG-UNIZIK,
Long Live Nnamdi Azikiwe University
Long Live Anambra State
Long Live Nigeria
