The Learn Africa Education Development
Foundation has commenced the recognition of secondary school students
that posted brilliant results in the National Examination Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
At the maiden award ceremony for
2014, Nder Sesugh Samuel of Vaatia College, Makurdi, Benue State,
emerged the overall best candidate in Nigeria and would receive his
award at the Abuja centre.
The duo of Adesokan Adediran Sakirudeen
and Raji Oluwatobi Quadri form St. Francis College, Idimu, emerged the
overall second and third best students in Nigeria respectively, and also
the first and second best in Lagos State.

The winners will receive cash prizes and
certificates at the ceremony which will be attended by students,
teachers, families, friends and well-wishers of the champions while the
winning schools and teachers will also received certificates and books
for their efforts.
In his remarks, Chairman of Learn
Africa, Emeke Iwerebon, said the award instituted two years ago by the
corporate social responsibility arm of the organisation was targeted at
highlighting the importance of education to national development.
