The Federal Polytechnic Nekede has joined the growing list of Polytechnics pulling out of the over one-year old strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics ASUP.
The Registrar of the Poly Nekede, Mr. Iloba Mattew Aligbe, made this known while announcing the resumption date for the 2013-2014 academic year.
According to the statement, “All old and new students are expected back to school on Monday, 9th June, 2014 as lectures will commence immediately.”
Student are also to note that no one will be admitted into any lecture room/hall of residence without evidence of complete payment of all outstanding and current school fees.
This is the latest news from ASUP Strike today.
It will be recalled that the following polytechnics had earlier pulled out of the ASUP strike action: Fed Poly Ado, Ekiti state; Fed Poly Offa, Kwara state; Waziri Umaru Fed Poly, Birnin Kebbi; Osun State Polytechnic, Osun State; Jigawa State Poly, Jigawa; and Akanu Ibaim Fed Poly, Unwana.
