In all my youthful days on this earth which is still ongoing, I have never seen a hatred that can be equated for a lady’s hatred towards her fellow lady. She can easily forgive a man who breaks her heart but hardly, rarely will she forgive a lady who took her classroom boyfriend 22 years ago(while in junior secondary school). Some people call it “beef” and given my numerous encounters with many of them,I have come to the conclusion that a handful of them are bitter.
I really can’t tell the reason why this is so but I want to believe it has something to do with security and self esteem. When a lady is secure and has a considerable level of esteem for her personality, hardly will she have time to engage and make friends that will end up as enemies in the not-so-distant future. She won’t have the time to “wash” her skin or bleach same. She will be contented with her beauty and the things God has brought her way…no matter how little. She will appreciate life and realise that there is time for everything. What she does not have now,she knows posterity will bring it her way if she works hard and is dedicated.
But the opposite is often the case when a lady hates. She will do everything within her reach to make sure she brings down the other lady. Is it worth it? All the efforts to make sure that she doesn’t have a good life because of a minor quarrel several years ago,is it worth it? Dear dearest dearie, there’s more to life than living in resentment of what your fellow lady did to you. Why call her a cheap slut who moves from one hotel to another? Why rubbish her name and tell everyone that cares to listen that she doesn’t have a womb? She told you some of these things in trust and confidence…why use it against her?
Ladies must learn to understand the difference between real trust and being moved by touching stories and emotions. It is often the case that when engrossed in a deep conversation with a female friend, its easy to say lots of things that are very secret to you. Learn to watch this thin line everytime you’re caught in the web…especially with your not-so-close friends. Keep keeping on. Let’s hope the hate will take a different positive direction soonest. Till we get to the Promised Land,I shall be waiting for when you will pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.
